  • Accepts payment from customers, and makes change as necessary.
  • Requests and records customer orders, and computes bills using cash registers, multi counting machines, or pencil and paper.
  • Cleans and organizes eating, service, and kitchen areas.
  • Notifies kitchen personnel of shortages or special orders.
  • Communicates with customers regarding orders, comments, and complaints.
  • Prepares daily food items, and cooks simple foods and beverages, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, or coffee, using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures.
  • Selects food items from serving or storage areas and places them in dishes, on serving trays, or in take-out bags.
  • Relays food orders to cooks.
  • Prepares and serves cold drinks, or frozen milk drinks or desserts, using drink-dispensing, milkshake, or frozen custard machines.
